We came her on the recommendation of friends who have been here every summer for 10 years and we were not disappointed! A beautiful part of the Loire Valley and a lovely, relaxed, friendly and informal 2 weeks was had by all. Our accommodation was spacious, comfortable, clean and fitted out in a rustic French style. We spent the days visiting chateaux, markets, vineyards etc and the evenings relaxing in the very friendly courtyard with an abundance of the local grape juice to keep us all company! The weather was sunny and hot for the most part with one very spectacular thunder storm that we all got up in the early hours one morning to watch. A lovely holiday, spent with some lovely people - you know who you are! Other plans in 2015 but would dearly like to go back in 2016, if you'll have us Helen! ||Would recommend this beautiful place to anyone - just look at the sunflowers!

Stayed here for a week with family and didn't want to go home! The location is beautiful, the accomodation is spacious and comfortable and the facilities include a well kept swimming pool. The family group ranged in age from 2 - 60's and La Croix Joreau catered for all of our interests. ||The owners, Helen and John, are very friendly and make you feel at home. We celebrated a family member's birthday and a-level results day for myself and a couple of the other guests whilst we were there and Helen, John and their children joined us.||I will definitely be going back!!

We recently stayed for a week whilst touring on our motorbike. John and Helen are very good hosts, helpful and knowledgeable about the area. We were fortunate with the weather despite it being the end of September and had some lovely warm sunny days and evenings, managing to sit in the courtyard sampling the local wines. The gite we were in had everything we needed, and we would certainly recommend it.||In the village there is a boulangerie and a general store, which sells most things, otherwise there's a supermarket in the next village. ||We went to Saumur, Chinon and Villandry, riding some very quiet well maintained roads in the process. We also managed to walk to a nearby lake one day. All in all a very enjoyable week.

Stayed here August 7th to 12th ,we had already stayed in a remote Gite near Saumer to do sight seeing with my partner and two children aged 10 and 13, we had booked on line cash on arrival but what sold this accommodation for me and the kids was the pool ,which after 5 days of walking and sight seeing was a welcomed chill.||The day before the 07th decided to pop in make sure everything was ok, only to find the pool was empty and was being fixed which to us was a problem as that's why we had booked.||On arrival the following day, I asked Helen for a reduction as the facilities that sold the accommodation were unavailable , also had Helen emailed to let me know I may have found alternative arrangements, Helens reply was a an abrupt No .We left after two days after leaving it cleaner than we arrived , I realise Helen has been under some stress but as a paying customer should still have been notified. Any maintenance should have been done ready for the busy summer period ,expensive lesson learnt

We stayed here in the summer. John and Helen were both very friendly and we ate some very nice meals with them. The accommodation was lovely and spacious, and we enjoyed using the pool (although it was very cold!). We were also able to use the WiFi sitting outside - which is lovely in the French summer - or from inside the gite.

I first came to La Craix Jareau in 2006, we have returned '08 & 2010, missed a couple of years through personal reasons,and returned again 2016.||We love it here, so relaxed, Helen again made us most welcome. We had booked an evening meal ahead, and enjoyed again Helen's cooking and the company of other guests round the large table.||Already booked for my next visit.

We have just finished a wonderful and relaxing ten days here,and I was sad to leave.John and Helen have been so welcoming,and helpful.The central courtyard is the social hub,and we have made many new friends sharing wine in the evening.It has been lovely to see all the children playing together too,something that is a rare sight today in England.||||The gite we stayed in was clean,with all the facilities you needed with a rustic charm.It was good value for money.The shared pool was an added bonus,despite my two year old throwing his dad's iphone in!||||The area around is beautiful with lots to do,we would recommend Doue zoo and the wine tours.||||If you are looking for a relaxing and sociable family holiday this is the place to come.We have already booked our next visit.
